I Wish I Were an Oscar- Meyer Weinermobile...
1 Attachment(s)
It is difficult to have a bad trip to Sam's Club when you arrive and see a Weinermobile sitting out front...
|
That is what I'd truly like to be...

I even got to go inside. The seat fabric has little Weinermobiles embossed into it.

'Cause if I Were an Oscar-Meyer Weinermobile...

It looks so futuristic, yet so silly...

My back to normal kid in his polar expedition wear poses next to the this venerable icon of Amercian dietary excess (he's the one on the left).

At least this weinermobile was built on a commercial chassis. The last generation was built on a chevy station wagon chassis. It weighed 3 time what the car would have but they didn't upgrade the brakes. The drivers had some very exciting stories to tell.

But ELS the important question is ,
DID YOU GET A WEINER-WISTLE ?????? |
Yup...but when you ask about it, it sounds so dirty!

or.....maybe you were just having a bad trip, and there was no wienermobile? Good thinkin' to get pics...i've seen this thing a few times, and my kids always freak out ( although they don;t eat hot dogs) What a cool promo. I think other companies should come out with their own knock offs of this thing. Furthermore, I think homework tonight will be to photoshop your favorite product's version of the wienermobile. On my desk by morning, please |
How embarassing...I've just realized that I didn't spell Wienermobile properly. <hangs head in shame>

Howdy folks. I know I've been MIA for a while, but it's not like anyone missed me... right? :P
Anyway, I just had to say ... an old girlfriend of mine is one of the Weinermobile folks for OM. She's on the road for a year from last June. Apparently there are 6 Weinermobiles, and about 12 interns are selected from nearly 1,000 applicants for the "job." They go out in teams of 2 and 3 and do god knows what for 12 months. But they do get paid for it. Now she's originally from St Louis, but she's assigned to the southeast, so I don't think it was her you saw. Still, at least I can brag about having a friend that drives a giant hot dog. Don't believe me? http://www.supdogg.com/murph.htm |
Well, she wasn't either the driver or the intern of the one I saw...but I did tell the driver that I thought she had one of the greatest jobs in the world!
