The Best of KC...The Worst of KC
Sometimes it seems that nothing in the world can simply be good, not even the Xmas season...

Last Tuesday I found a wallet right outside the Acme entrance. I could see there was money in it by looking at the edge but I didn't open it. I just gave it to the desk in the Acme. If I opened it and found out who it belonged to, I'd have been obligated to try and find them. I didn't have the time so I let Acme handle it. Selfish? Yes.

Bullshit. You turned it in, as opposed to ripping it off. That makes you an honest man.:thumb:

Hopefully the people I gave it to will follow through and ALL the contents will be returned to the owner. It's funny, as is stood at the service desk while the girl printed out lottery tickets for a guy, I probably looked impatient standing there with wallet in hand. She got quite perturbed with me and then made me wait a couple minutes after she finished with the tickets. She looked embarrassed when she finally did wait on me and I told her the story.:haha:

Back in October, I found a Zone 3 Trailpass on the commuter train. I would have been more than happy to give it back to the person, as I already had my own, it was only the middle of the month, and those things aren't cheap ($126.50). Only problem was that the person didn't sign it and put their phone number on it (they have lines for that on the back of the pass). Wound up holding onto it until the end of the month.
Great...now it comes to me! Why didn't I just turn it into the SEPTA information office at Suburban Station. Stoopid me. :p |

A lot of people blow off the signature and phone number lines on the back of the pass. And granted, there's no guarantee that you'll get it back if you sign it and put your phone number on it. But if I'm going to spend $120 a month for a small piece of plastic, I might as well do what I can to see that it gets back to me if lost or stolen. |
