Compressing my HD
I have a dilemma that I'm hoping you technowizards can help me on.
I only have a 2.1 GB HD on my computer here at home, and I am running low on space (just over 400 MB left). I don't download mp3's, and the only thing I can think of is that all the programs I have downloaded here and there are eating up my space. Of course, the most obvious solution would be to buy a bigger HD, but I don't have the money at this point. So, I'm thinking a compression might help. I have Drive Space 3, but have never run it before (in the 3 years I have owned the computer). It says it can compress some space and will create another drive called H with an extra gig of space. Does this sound right? Do I need to back up my files before running this? How do I do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! |
I have a better solution
Sycamore,
If you can get down to CC, I have several 4-8 GB HD's I can make available for you, with a guarantee of at least a 4.2GB one. Compression is evil, and I have spare HD's. The one payment is to help make sure there's enough good beer at the next Cellar picnic. Take care, Mitch |
