Liebermann Inc- To good to be true?

I came across this link today: Lieberman Inc

These systems, if they are what they say, blow every other high-perfomance system right out of the water. But are they to good to be true?

This link: http://plex.us/outbursts/liebermann.html
Provides good information that says its all a joke.

Lieberman Inc claims to have had a booth at Comdex but its no where to be found. I couldn't even locate any reviews for their products.

These systems kick ass in every wat imaginable but are they for real? Does anyone know more?

It wouldn't be the first drool-inducing product that was lovingly mocked up by someone for a hoax. The Bahn Sage analogue synthesizer was intricately crafted *in graphics only* by a member of the world analogue synth community just for his own curiosity. The resulting buzz and discussion was amazing. He eventually revealed step by step how he'd done it. Major kudos to this guy.

Story here.

Elspode -- that has to be one of the coolest hoaxes I've ever seen. I'm impressed with his attention to detail in generating the magazine look.

It wasn't that long ago that people would be throwing money at this guy by the shovel full with no more proof than that website.

Yea I see why the SAGE got so much attention. So much power without having to build your own studio. I think these computers fall under the same category. You have the power of a super computer with higly advanced hardware but priced low enough to catch most peoples eye. Simply to good to be true. I heard that the website is supposed to be a Mac parody (thus its resemblance to apple.com) but I don't know for sure.

The companies Grand Canyon monitors seem like a realistic product but it may just be another case of to good to be true.

Apparently Al Gore thinks so. :)

I'll stick with the Jupiter 8.

Elspode 12-10-2003 09:49 PM

Toss it my way, and I'll stick to it like glue.

You've *got* a Jupiter 8? Coolness, indeed. One monster synth, that is.
