http://cellar.org/2003/slaveryprotest.jpg
Interesting protest dep't: these are Indian activists, marking the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery in New Delhi. http://cellar.org/2003/slaveryprotest2.jpg And some activists are children: formerly bonded workers, and rescued from lives of slavery by welfare organizations. |
Damn.
A hundred and forty-odd years from now, their descendants will be demanding reparations from us. I'm pretty sure it's our fault. |
With luck the reparations will come from the coffers of the corporations responsible, not the taxpayer...
|
Good one! Corporations taking responsibility while the government is controlled by Republicans.
That's funny! |
Wow, they have really harsh penalties for protesting there.

That would make for a boring afternoon...
|
Hey kids, I know you used to be slaves, you want to be bound and gagged just for old times sake? It'll be a hoot.
|
I bet the organizers made the protesters do all the work...

I hope those kids protested after their 16 hour work day. Otherwise the cost might go up on my Nike's.
