Sniper Trial Prediction: Both men found Not Guilty

Hahahahahahaha. Just kidding.

I project executions in 2007 and 2009 for Muhammed and Malvo, respectively. I think Malvo will be able to push it back a bit more in appeals due to his age and arguments that he was "brainwashed".

Anyone else want to post predictions? We'll revisit the thread when it's pertinent and the winner gets a hot dog (or, if you're vegetarian/vegan, a meal at Sunflower restaurant in Vienna, VA).

I can get vegetarian hot dogs (veggie pork) from the chinese store.

Fry them. You don't accidentally snipe that many people. The devil made me do it don't work. There's no way you're gonna convince anyone you didn't know it was wrong. Send them up Texas-style.

Eww. Why would you want to??

(I don't mind meat-free food. Except when it tries to pretend it's meat.)

Unfortunately, I don't think the kid will fry.:(

insoluble 11-10-2003 08:35 PM

Are you trying to imply that hot dogs actually contain meat?

xoxoxoBruce 11-10-2003 08:44 PM

Meat by products.:vomit:

Adult gets the death penalty, kid gets life. Parole after double digit years.

Beestie 11-10-2003 10:47 PM

Both are bacon.

You in Virginia now, boy.

This is why Doug Gansler (the MD prosecutor) lost his bid to host the trial in the people's republic of Maryland.

Oh, and take comfort. Should the pair avoid the death penalty, there is an express train to 'Bama where the evidence includes an eyewitness .... and an Alabama jury.

Both are bacon.

dave 11-10-2003 10:48 PM

I agree with Beestie. They have enough murder charges in Virginia that they'll eventually get 'em. They will both be executed.

wolf 11-11-2003 12:14 AM

Unless the defense attorneys make an attempt to have all of the cases tried together on the logic that fewer trials may result in fewer guilty verdicts (unlikely, IMHO), they are not just bacon, they are extra crispy bacon.

The one problem with multiple trials, is that the cases will be dragging on for years, and the appeals process will be equally complex, and both men will die of old age before their date with Old Sparky (or Mr. Lethal Injection, as the state's preference may be).

One thing I'm fairly sure we won't see is an attempt to go for Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity or Guilty but Mentally Ill. Either type of defense is a lot rarer than you might think despite the furor that erupts when it's tried.

slang 11-11-2003 01:49 AM

These serial killers are so sickening, I hope they fry both of their white, middle aged, technical professional, recently displaced by some minority, asses!

Oh shit! That's right, they didnt fit the profile and Moose refused to consider them even though they were brought to the attention of law enforcement THREE FUCKING TIMES !!

Three!(One...Two....THREE)

(slang puts paper bag over his mouth and continues breathing)

elSicomoro 11-11-2003 12:06 PM

Remember though...it only takes one juror to throw the death penalty vote.

Sorry folks, I don't believe in the death penalty. But if they are found guilty, they deserve to rot in jail.

Ummm...but this is what Malvo is pleading now.

dave 11-11-2003 12:16 PM

I believe the death penalty system as currently implemented in the United States is flawed, and I would therefore say that I am anti-death penalty. That having been said, I am a human being, and I can be swayed. And sitting in traffic for THREE FUCKING HOURS WHILE THE BELTWAY IS LOCKED DOWN BECAUSE SOMEONE GOT SHOT BY THESE TWO DUMB FUCKFACES will definitely sway me. I will not shed a tear when they at least have a chance to say goodbye to loved ones, unlike those whose lives they took.
