Creed and the Local Boy

Kenny Longo was lead guitar for Hyjinx, the band that rehearsed at my house. He has a South Jersey band called Peepshow now.
Kenny won a radio contest to meet and play a radio promo with Creed, when they came to town.
Kenny says;
"The whole day with Creed was a huge fantasy....from the all access pass, to hanging out eating dinner with those guys, to jamming, and finally their show. I'm not the biggest Creed fan ever, but I gotta tell ya those guys can play. The first one there was the drummer Scott Phillips. When he showed up I was just messing around with some Rush and he ran to the kit. We jammed Spirit of Radio, Freewill and YYZ....the guy is no joke and can really lay it down. When the rest of the guys showed up we played a couple of Creed tunes as that was part of the whole radio station promotion deal. After that I thought it was over but Mark Tremonti ,the guitar player ,wanted to play some more. so we played some Zeppelin stuff, VH (of course),and a trading 4 jam over some Allman Brothers type chord progression and feel. Believe it or not they really couldn't have been nicer people. To be on a stage that big hear what they hear was just incredible. The kick drum out front...with the building being empty ...was enough to stop your heart. What a killer drum sound that guy gets.....He plays all custom painted Pearl drums....and man are they slammin'. It was definitely a huge day of fantasy.....but one I'll never forget......Ken"

That's incredibly cool, even if it was Creed.

So how do these gents hook up with you to practice at your house? Did you charge 'em rent, or just enjoy whatever they were blasting up from the basement or wherever?

Past tense, UT. Hyjinx is now defunct, but the former drummer is my best friend. He has some amazing stories of the Jersey shore, the politics of the music scene, and playing Neufoundland in the winter when a can of soda(pop) would freeze solid in 8 minutes.:eek:

He needs a bassist then?

I don't have any business cards printed up yet...
