Microscope pictures

I thought this was kind of cool. It's velcro, magnified 35 times. You can see the little hooks and loops pretty clearly.

Oh what a tangled mess we weave!!!
I love looking at pictures like this. Where did you find it? Electron microscope pics are really neat too. |

like gecko toes (sans "glue")

The velcro picture actually is from an electron microscope. I got it from here. A light microscope could view this same manification easily, but electron microscopes get better resolution.

Sperm trying to get into an ovum (egg).

Thanks for the link Juju, I really love looking at this kind of stuff. Did you look at the Black Widow Claw? Not to change the subject or anything, but........I just recently paid off the last of my hospital bills from my last project in Vegas where I was bitten by one of these little butt-holes. It ended up costing me about $2400. I barely made any profit off that job. But, I digress.
Gossard, where did you get your pic from? |
juju, I also have pictures of a sperm trying to enter an ovum. Only with much less magnification than your image.
Would you like to see them? |
Bad little sperms;) . What was that taken with? I'm curious because of the color. Electron microscopes are in black and white, or am I mistaken? Or, was the color added later?
Speaking of sperms and eggs.....when is your kid due to hatch Juju? |

There wasn't any information with the image, unfortunately. The due date is November 3rd.
