Anyone going to the race tommorrow?
In Speedway that is. I guess there's a neckcar race too.
I'm born and raised in Indianapolis, close enough to The Speedway (Speedway, Indiana) to hear the cars running. In any case, I'll be in the south short chute (don't remember the section), row JJ (look me up if you're there :p). |
I was at the museum once, back in 1988. Neat place.

Cool. Is the row of hooks for hanging the weights on or moving them in groups to the scale? I assume you use transducers and not a balance beam for big measurements.
|
the hooks are on the end of a knuckle boom for picking and placeing the weights , the orange and blue thingees are motorized carts for driveing them about , yes we use transdures baced load cells for weighing most any thing nowadays , beams are a thing of the past though there are still a few around ,
there are also hydrolic weighing systems out there , hell i even saw a prototype for a system that uses refracted lazer light , didn't work but cool consept |
