All because Terry Norman, part time student, and toady for J. Edgar Hoover, lied to the police and FBI, telling them the student
protestors were armed and planning to burn several buildings putting them fearful and on edge.
Then he fired four shots with his pistol 70 seconds before, and triggering, the massacre.

PS, 10 days later it happened at Jackson state, 2 dead, 11 wounded, but they were just uppity Negros so nobody cared.

On the day before the anniversary it happened that I was reading up on Joe Walsh (Eagles, James Gang). He was there (a student @ Kent State) when it all went down. He said that the bullets flying made him realize he might not need that English degree as badly as he had once thought he did. He dropped out, and moved to California pursued a career in music.
