Dec 8th, 2017: Wounded Warrior
In 2011 Artillery Sergeant Michael Nicholson lost his right leg at the hip, left leg above the knee, left arm below the elbow,
plus traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress, to a 40 lb roadside bomb. After 33 surgeries and some dark days, his wife got him into sports. http://cellar.org/2017/warrior1.jpg Last July at the Department of Defense Warrior Games, he competed in the 100-meter(silver medal), 200-meter(Gold medal) and 400-meter racing chair. Also the 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard freestyle and a relay event in swimming. http://cellar.org/2017/warrior2.jpg He also played golf at The Invictus Games in Toronto, last September. He has 12 year old girl, and a boy under a year, so he’s still an artilleryman. link |
Sometimes I love the humans.

Poor guy :(

Kudus to the wife for encouraging him to keep going and supporting him. Kudus to him for working at it.

Yeah, I doubt he's the type looking for sympathy.

He said he was feeling sorry for himself and angry at the world until his wife got him into the sports with the wounded warrior regiment. Wives are always the smart half of the team. :yesnod:
