Aug 11th, 2017: Power to the People

It used to be if you wanted to expand your empire you could just send some redcoats troops with up to date weapons, some
trinkets, and a couple clergy. Things are a lot tougher these days, with the internet and a world full of whining do-gooders.
Oh, don't beat those slaves, don't take their gold/diamonds/oil, don't molest those children, it's enough to make you sick.

Today you need to supply power to maintain power. Addict them to TV, internet, and TV Dinners then they'll follow you anywhere.
Ah, but in the far corners of Tibet that takes some doing, as it takes a lot of material.

And you have to get it where you need it, despite the do-gooders. Oh, don't beat those mules, don't make them carry that heavy
steel, don't make them work every day, it's enough to make you sick.

But it's all worth it when the job is done, the natives subdued, and resources for the taking.

Bruce. You're doing something really special here. This is beyond images with commentary--this is visual poetry with a heavy dose of sarcastic social consciousness. This is art.

I have many friends who are producing social commentary art via recycling images, with techniques like collages and stencils. What you're doing here is another version of that type of art, in my opinion.

In a world inundated with photography of every possible subject, where you might expect peoples' sense to become dulled to all the imagery, artists like yourself are taking that rich, fertile soil and growing something new and meaningful from it.

Give yourself a pat on the back--this is important work. You're doing something tangible here.

Mules, schmules, they need some D-9s and other land smashing, erosion loving ROAD construction.
Those guys can't do anything right.
Thanks to Bruce and The Atlantic.
