Fancy Cake

This guy ordered a "Geode Cake" to be delivered during his wife's birthday party. This picture was posted on Imgur and most of the comments were highly critical to put it nicely. Things like, 'it looks like he fucked it', a lot of vaginal references, 'it's ugly', 'I wouldn't eat that', and 'get your money back"

I have a feeling most of these people don't know what Geode is or looks like.

Pretty impressive.

Can one order one of those custom? I thought a geode was just a naturally occurring crystal formation? Did I miss a geology lesson?

A geode cake is a cake with rock sugar crystals inside, so it looks like a geode.

But "mottled red and pink" may not be the ideal color choice.

Yah, amethyst would have been less cunty

Well, it was for a woman's birthday.

The color choice was quite unfortunate. I've also seen most geode cakes with plain white frosting/fondant for the cake itself and the only color is the where the geode is. I would hope people avoid reds and pinks for this reason.

Here's a nice purple geode cake:

Oooh that's pretty. I wonder if on the cake I posted they were trying to replicate a certain type of stone?

Possibly... maybe garnet or ruby or rose quartz. I think it more likely that the clients that ordered the cake said "ooo red and pink! That'll look awesome!" and the poor baker had to follow the order. Could have been a miscommunication. Could have been the people that ordered it got exactly what they asked for and they just didn't have the imagination (or perversion) to realize it would look like sloppy lady bits. I kinda hope it was the clients that asked for it not realizing it would look that bad... At least then they could mainly blame themselves. Though I would have thought the baker would have pointed out how it might appear. When done right, geode cakes can look quite striking.
