Apr 12th, 2017: Totem Pole of Reconciliation

It’s common knowledge in the US, how the Europeans came to North America, and with the help of some Africans they hired,
saved the Indians from eternal damnation. Even more magnanimously, taught the Indians to read and write a real language,
and dress properly so they could assimilate European culture. The result, as we know, was we all lived happily ever after.

Unfortunately the Canadians didn’t follow our lead and abused their power over the hospitable natives. Robbing them at trading
posts, pushed them off their land, and ruined the hunting and fishing grounds.
To make it all nice nice, the University of British Columbia hired Chief James Hart to carve this totem pole so everyone could
reconcile with the ghosts of the past.

It looks like the totem pole was erected in the traditional manner with singing, chanting, drumming, and a hydraulic man lift.
Worst of all, Canucks stole the native children, forcing them into government owned, church run schools where they were raped
and beaten. Over 6,000 died, but nobody is sure how many from broken hearts/spirits. Fortunately the church was forced out
so the children are beaten and raped by trained government employees… and they have free health care.
Lots of old Indians came to recount their experiences in tribal schools and tell the whippersnappers how they trudged to school
in 6 feet of snow, barefoot, uphill, both ways, without so much as an iPod.

This 55 foot totem pole was carved from an 800 year old Red Cedar (shit use to grow slowly before the Global Warming hoax
perpetrated by left wing sissies). Back when the pre-aspirin cure for a sickness was drinking Quicksilver(mercury)...
...and trains didn’t run on time.

Here people are wearing traditional dress which is proof they were savages in need of salvation.
There is not one bowler, beret, or homburg in the bunch.

Um, those people weren't "hired".
