Debating / Arguing

When debating/arguing the Marquess of Queensberry can’t help, you’re on your own. So how do you spot (or use), fallacies in a debate?
How do you defend your position why you shouldn’t have to eat Brussel sprouts or go to bed at 8 PM ?.
You can get a free poster of these here.

Downloaded that poster and it is going up in my house and I'm sending one with the kids to put up in their mom's house - for them to consult whenever talking to her...

"false cause" certainly rolls off the tongue easier than "post hoc ergo propter hoc" (after the fact therefore because of the fact)...
