new computer

I bought an MSI Apache Pro over the weekend.

It took me a few tries to get Windows 10 to die and install Linux instead.

Now trying to transfer my files and data over by flash drive.

I really wish there were a way to transfer settings and passwords and such easily. I have to try to remember so many that the system memorized for me and I never thought of again, such as youtube. I refuse to give any of these data mining companies my cell number, and they won't reset my password without it.

I guess I will have to create a whole new account and resubscribe to my channels.

Sigh.

Has it tried to scalp you yet?
(virtually of course).

I use a pen and paper for password recall.

Got scalped when she paid for it. Maybe.

Probably did. Newegg has a better price but I lose on the delivery. I paid the extra for immediate delivery in-store. I hate to wait a month before I pass through town again. I time my Amazon purchases to arrive a few days before I do.

I have run into a few small issues. Namely, it refuses to shut down or hibernate, and the lighted keyboard somehow got turned off and I can't figure out how to turn it back on.
Flash crashes more often than it used to and several of my plugins now do not show up on the menu bar, even though they are installed and working.

I'll keep fiddling and eventually, I will stumble onto the problem and google a fix.
