All Hail the Big Bass Overlord

He seems to give the Red Hot Chili Peppers a disproportionate representation.

That was fun. I was surprised how many bass lines were also what I think of as the melodies.

I expected a big fish.

I am disappoint.

You know how to tell if the stage is level?

The bass player drools out both sides of his mouth.

It's a'ight! I'm not gonna nit-pick.

...sure I am, because there are some things he left out!

"I Was Made To Love Her" ... I mean if you're gonna pick Stevie Wonder

"Get Lucky" ... I mean if you're gonna pick a Daft Punk song

"Love Will Tear Us Apart" ... Let Peter Hook show you how it's played

"Pump It Up" ... is the most iconic of all the E Costello hits catalogue

"Ace of Spades" ... for the sake of fuck

"Beat It" ... the guy picked Billie Jean but I think you'll find this more iconic

"School Days" ... Stanley Clarke because you're gonna pick something not Jaco

"The National Anthem" ... Radiohead. Three notes.

"Girls and Boys" ... a much better choice for Blur

"Come Together" ... really? Or did I miss it?

"Gimme Some Lovin" ... Two notes.

"White Rabbit" ... is not a great song but it does have that iconic bass riff

"Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick"

"The Mayor of Simpleton"

One Chris Squire? No Cake?

It's interesting how some bass lines are only a couple of notes, and others are several measures long.

You'll have to just use your ears for this one.
