Keeping kids busy while they are at home during the warm summer months is a challenge for any parent, older sibling or babysitter. It’s not easy to fill an 8 hour+ day with fun activities for your little ones. Thankfully, some brilliant people online came up with some fun (and safe) ways to keep children occupied for less than $10.

Yeah...#9 should be retitled to "How To Make A Small Child Cry".

Sponge ain't gonna slide across sponge, with sponge stacked on top. Not even wet, which would be more fun.

But little kids are probably just going to knock them down and rebuild the pile repeatedly, so sponge would be safe and blessedly quiet. Older kids who actually know how and want to play right might be pissed, but the sponges won't hurt when they throw them at you. ;)

this thread brought to mind the joke about the young kid who kept annoying his dad's poker game by shouting out cards and running around being a brat. The boy's uncl gets up and says "Come with me." About ten minutes later the uncle comes back to the table and the card game resumes peacefully.

The others ask, "Did you scold him? Did you smack him? Did you lock him in his room?"
The uncle says, "No, I taught him how to jerk off."

and now dad's winnings are spent on the hot water bill...

...and Kleenex.

Reminds me of an old "Family Circus" comic strip. Kid is standing behind his dad at the poker table and asks, aloud, "Daddy, what does A, K, Q, J spell?"
