3/8/2003: Mardi gras dogs

http://cellar.org/2003/mardigrasdog2.jpg

Happy Saturday! It turns out that, the week BEFORE Mardi Gras, they have a parade for dogs, since dogs wouldn't be able to participate in the "real" parade.

And I'm kinda overflowing with animal pics now, so this is the results.

The question is, do bitches get extra beads because they have 8-10 nipples?

Depends ... is she really hot?

Also, the idjit that dyed those pekes needs to be shot.

No, they get extra beads so they won't bite you.

Dear sir, I point you to this book: "Why paint cats." Although it is about cats not dogs, I think it brings the same ethical issue you may have to light. That or you just hate over zealous pet owners.

I don't have an ethical issue.

I just think it's stupid. I like dogs better than cats, but I would grudginly admit its stupid to do to cats. I think it's stupid to do to humans too.

oh, and that's "madam" ... SEE (you owe me beads).

Don't forget about PETA! They love these things.

This book is a parody, a hoax. It only purports to be a serious thing. Great frigging pictures, though.

I am inclined to believe you, but I say: "prove it!" I can not personally find solid evidence to show one side over the other (parody/truth.) This web page includes a mention of a hoax as well as this web page, but they are both inconclusive. I am not up in arms about the issue, it is just that the authors have done a very good job of not letting the cat out of the bag.

The article at this link states it pretty decisively...

I was taken in by this myself. The pictures are incredibly well-done. I was actually involved in a fairly testy online argument, with me arguing that it was legit, until someone sent me this article.
