Recomendations for iPod case
Lifeproof proved not to be. Griffin Survivor is still survivin' but apparently "too chunky". Otter Boxes any good? Anything else?

My hubby purchased an Otter box for his Samsung cellphone. It lasted all of 2 1/2 months. It kept banging against everything, and then the clip sheared right off. He went on Ebay and ordered a different one. Too bad, it was expensive at $60.

Did he get a counterfeit otter box? They are very common and very sub par. Found online, including on Amazon. I got my otter box for iPhone at a Radio Shack store and it came in a nice package with a hologram seal. It's in great shape after a year of use.

No it was the real McCoy, with tags. He has always bought 'the best' of everything or so he thought. Perhaps the reason it broke off is that as a phone technician he spends much of his time on telephone poles or carrying ladders through farmers fields.

Yeah, I got the Otterbox Commuter, and it's great. It's got a clear sticker to go over the screen, a silicone rubber huggie to go around the phone, leaving the camera, screen, and switches free, but covering buttons. A flap covers each jack. And surrounding the rubber huggie is a hard polycarbonite shell.
This sandwich of layers seems to give it good impact protection. I still am careful with it, so can't tell you that I use it for skeet shooting and it holds up fine. But it is great in everyday use, and the rubber flaps, which are manipulated daily, don't fray or tear. Most amazing part is that it still fits in my dock when I remove the little dock cradle insert. So I can still play stuff on TV and through the stereo. I suspect that if you are not paying close to $30 for it, you're getting a counterfeit like these customer images on Amazon. |
thanks
