Sycamore vs. Augmentin

Definitions first...

Augmentin: Antibiotic drug, in the same class as penicillins

Sycamore: Twenty-something temp worker/poet/writer, originally from St. Louis, now living in Philadelphia

I've been a bit under the weather for the past few weeks, so my doc gave me a prescription for Augmentin. My doc knows I don't have health insurance, so he gave me a coupon so that I would get it for free (whoohoo! Oooh! And free Clarinex...I just have to go to the office whenever I run out.) I got it filled and started taking it Monday night...

My doc warned me up front of side effects, particularly one nasty one that doesn't merit discussion here. And there were others...but I generally don't get rocked hard by the side effects. The last time I had a serious side effect was when I was taking Albuterol in '94 (it made my heart race and skip beats...man, that was fucked up).

But this drug smacked the shit out of me like a silly bitch. I've been stomach sick all damned week. I suffered the nasty side effect that the doctor told me about. And I felt like I was moving sloooooow...this generally lasts from the time I get up (6ish) until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I was moving around fine, and was able to do my job just fine, but it felt like shit was in slow-motion.

But at least the med's working...or so it seems. Thank God I only have to take this for 2 more days.

I'll be sending down an unusual beam of heavenly light that will penetrate the ceiling of your place. You wil recognize it when you see it. Do not be afraid young Sycamore. Stand in the light, it'll fix you up.

We'll settle up.....ummm.....later.

You're welcome.
