Marathon naps

Occasionally, I will have a marathon nap where I'm glued to the bed for 12-18 hours. (I totally identify with that Murakami character from Wind-up Bird Chronicles.

Today was the second marathon nap in a week. They've never been closer than 6 weeks apart. I'm sure there is a reason.

You were probably tired.

I think aliens are siphoning my vital essence during my sleep. Look what happened to that elephant.

You've been under a lot of stress lately. Your body needs a break every now and then if you let it.

I reckon if I could be in a dark room with no interference I could sleep for a couple of days without any problem at all.

You are my hero.

haha...nah, just a mother of 4 (5 if you include my husband) with a constant flow of foot traffic through the house, trying to get a small business up and running while managing all the other day to day stuff that comes along. ;)

I'm tired. To the bone.

I literally.... Lit ter ruhl leeee....

fall asleep within 3 minutes of getting into bed most nights.

I'm not even shitting you

Clodfobble 05-14-2013 09:53 PM

Oh yeah, me too. I'm asleep almost instantly, and maybe 30 minutes later Mr. Clod will come in and turn on a lamp to read and I'll still stay passed right out. I used to have trouble falling asleep, back in my youth when I wasn't living in a constant state of sleep deprivation.

Certain vitamins are required for alertness, potassium, the entire B complex, and D. If any of these are low, you will want to sleep all the time. I've been low on each of these at some point which is how I know.

And chronically tired is one of the signals of depression.

Or, something completely different.

orthodoc 05-15-2013 08:11 PM

I wish I could sleep for 12-18 hours, or preferably for two days. I fall asleep instantly and wake up 90 minutes later. Doze and wake all night. I am sooo tired ...

but everyone has stress and most of us are tired. Those who can sleep - carry on!!
