Congress

I’ve been watching Ken Burns, The West. Reruns from PBS.
Don’t misunderstand me; I only have a ged diploma. But I’d like to think I’m smart enough to see what a bunch of crooks the congress is made up of.
Not a damn thing has changed since the early 1800s. The only laws that are passed are the ones that the fat cats get the profit and money in someone’s pocket.Free range, lease for pennies a year, gold claims pennies. All for the fucking vote. Now they'er going for the wetback vote. Close the border, not in this life.
The cocksuckers passed laws against ever one regardless of colour or creed.
Will no one wake up? What to do? DANMIFINO

Congress has a 9% approval rating so I feel it isn't that people don't realize this, more that people feel powerless in getting rid of other district/state's congress representatives (cause our's gives our district/state money... Yay!).

That's the rub. He's a crook but he's our crook. I think I've voted for our incumbent maybe once in the last couple decades. We went from an utterly corrupt but classic bring home the bacon Republican, to an Iraqi veteran one term blue dog Democrat whose main flaw was the national leadership, to a new style air-head partisan Republican. So we've moved lately but the new boss is probably as bullet proof as the earlier one. It was a miracle that we had a Democrat for a term because our district was very carefully drawn.

To get (re)elected they don't even have to tell a bunch of lies, just one good one, because so many people who even bother to vote, do so on a single issue.

Hey, Youngstown had this joker for YEARS:

James Anthony Traficant, Jr. (born May 8, 1941) was a Democratic politician and member of the United States House of Representatives from Ohio. He represented the 17th Congressional District, which centered on his hometown of Youngstown and included parts of three counties in northeast Ohio's Mahoning Valley. He was expelled after being convicted of taking bribes, filing false tax returns, racketeering, and forcing his aides to perform chores at his farm in Ohio and houseboat in Washington, D.C..[1] He was sentenced to prison and released on September 2, 2009, after serving a seven-year sentence.
