installing software

I have to install CorelDraw into my laptop for work. Not sure if it matters or not but it's an old version. Anyways, I was wondering if something goes wrong, could it delete my files? I'm pressed for time and feeling very tired so I'm a bit lazy to back up my files. If unsuccessful installation won't delete my files, I'm gonna go ahead and install it w/out backing up my files.

Anyone know?

Simple answer here

Geez, thanks, Lamp. I thought it was a link to an answer. Well, it is sort of an answer, just not exactly what I am looking for. :p:

Here goes nothing...gonna just install the program. Because of Lamp, I'm feeling a tad nervous while I wasn't before. Hihi....crossing my fingers.

Uhhh...err on the side of caution...?

Hehehehe..... What can go wrong with software installation?? ...lol. Anyways, laptop said the disc is empty, do I want to burn files? HMMMMM.....

disc is blank.

you do NOT have corel draw, therefore, you will not harm your files by installing nothing.

problem solved.

do you need that specific program? gimp is free, and does more.

I need CorelDraw. I need to print something that in a CorelDraw file. :( what's worse is that I will need to install some Viet fonts, which had problems doing last year.

Some problems, some suggestions.

The person who made the Corel Draw file converted it into a PDF file. Okay, problem solved, right? Wrong, didn't print out right. The person who gave me the CorelDraw cd wondered why I don't just install Corel? DVD rom broken. He lent me his DVD rom extenstion. CorelDraw was installed fast and painless. I am now sitting here printing and while the printer runs, I browse the Cellar. :thumb2:

By the way, I like remote access now. Installed Team Viewer and the other guy was able to get into my computer and install and fix whatever needed to get the file perfect for printing. So much less headache than last year. :D And he got a sim card or whatever it is from here so I was able to call all the way to France easily and at no cost for me. :thumb2:
