Crossing the IDL = time travel

Well, I left Sydney Tuesday at 3:30 pm and arrived in Los Angeles at 10 am of the same day, so I have tested the theory of relativity or something like that and traveled back in time.

And even though I slept 7 hours on my flights I seem to be waking up at 3am each morning ready to take on the day but crash by lunch time for a 2 hour nap. This sucks.

Get out in the sun during the day and try to stay awake during the day.

Is there an outdoor project you can take on?

Back in the 60's, this novice tourist had a really difficult time creating his itinerary for the Samoan islands.

Flights into and out of American Samoa (Pago Pago) were every other day of the week.
Flights into and out of Western Samoa (Apia) were every other day of the week too,
but... on different (alternate) days.

You could take off on a Tuesday and land 20 minutes later on a Monday.
Then, it took a round-trip flight to re-set your mental calendar

I think they fixed this just last year when they shifted the IDL,
so now all the Pacific Trust Territories are in the same time zone
