September 13, 2012 - Peaceful Pattern in Nature
|
That was a neat collection of pictures at the link
|
I didn't have time earlier to find out more details about this image. I have discovered that this is a picture of an ice cave ceiling in Bavaria, Germany.
The interesting thing is that at every other site that carries the image, the images are the opposite of this one. The bottom of this image is at the top in all the other images. I wonder which is correct? http://cellar.org/2012/Nature-Pattre...ave-Celing.jpg From SheClick |

Yay me! I takes mah vict'ries, however small, where I finds 'em. |
Well neighbor.. I think I have to disagree on the "peaceful". Seems too harsh and abrupt to me. Heavy contrast. Kinda cold looking and "cold colored".
But I like it! And a lot of those others too! |
I never would have guessed this was an ice cave since I haven't seen one before.
Interesting reaction Spuck. I looked and looked at this image trying to figure out what it was. It didn't seem soft like flower petals or fabric, but I hadn't thought about it being hard or cold. Blue is always so calming for me, even a hard, cold blue. My favorite is the color of thick ice or snow like when a tunnel has been carved out. |
Stark, I think, is a good descriptor for that image.

I have to agree with Spuck. I find the image pretty cold, but we're not all the same. Peaceful to me would be something entirely different I think.
