Joe Biden's speech may not have been the best of all speeches, but he got to me.
I bought into Biden's persona during his '72 campaign. During an outdoor press interview, he answered questions and I liked his answers. But what sold me was his unconscious caressing of his son's head and face while he talked. As a young father, I recognized a man who truly loved his son. It's hard to believe that back then, a politician could be forced out of his campaign for some plagiarized lines in his speeches. I was so disappointed when he dropped out. In any case, tonight one part of his speech did get to me again. When he said (in so many words): Quote:
