If there was a Nobel prize for toys, this guy would win hands down.

wolf 01-28-2003 10:25 AM

You don't want one of those ... you'll put your eye out! (along with the eyes of everyone in several neighborhoods surrounding yours.)

wolf 01-28-2003 10:25 AM

(of course I want one too)

I dunno, looks like a giant leaf blower to me. I would think you guys would like something more, well, GUN-looking.

wolf 01-28-2003 11:12 AM

How about the original in it's natural setting?

You know, I'll bet you they were just going to have some male airman hold the thing and then a lightbulb goes off and the photographer says, 'what about that cute blond?'. Its the military version of the car show.

Not exactly, Rich.

Released Aug. 7, 2002
KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. (AFMCNS) -- Airman Vanessa Dobos, 58th Training Squadron here, will be the Air Force’s first female aerial gunner when she graduates from her technical school in a few weeks. As a gunner and member of a search and rescue crew on the H-60 helicopter, she’ll perform a combat duty that was formerly closed to women in the Air Force. Dobbs said she follows the philosophy an instructor told her, "A gunner's a gunner, don't think you're special because you're a female." Her first duty station will be Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

Good thing the Air Force isn't quite as invested in gender sterotypes as you are. :-)

I stand corrected. I would personally like to apologize to Airman Dobos, since it is my personal policy not to piss off any woman who can shoot over 200 rounds per minute. Sorry Maggie, but you're under the limit.

I'd better not let HB see that photo or he'll re-enlist! To get near the gun or the gal!

You're sure about that? :-)

It is my policy to neither confrm nor deny my access to full-auto firearms. However, there was a guy weraing a "Pennsylvanian Class 3 Competitors" t-shirt at the range during the last Pink Pistols shoot with *quite* an interesting array of shootin' irons, including a number of full-auto pieces, at least one of which was capable of > 200 rds/min cyclic rate...and he wasn't at all shy about sharing. :-)

So you might want to change "*can* shoot over 200 rounds per minute" to "is personally equipped to shoot over 200 rounds per minute"
