1/2/2003: Mascot frightens infant
http://cellar.org/2003/babyattack.jpg
I'm not sure this shot is worthy, but I was taken aback by it so what the hey. This is a Philippine police mascot. The caption sez that some police officers were given the job of wearing mascot costumes as they patrol the shopping malls there, to make their presence less obtrusive and more friendly. Obviously, the mascot is having the intended effect. |
Caption:
Jackson Child Meets Father for First Time
Los Olivos, California - In the security and privacy of the Neverland Ranch, Michael Jackson's youngest son met his father for the first time today. Jackson has recently completed the latest round of surgeries to tranform his appearance to that of a 'multi-cultural Diana Ross.' |
An appropriate reaction.
I'm trying to figure out the line across the eyes-is the egg head gonna open up? Or has it just closed? I find the baggy, deboned appendages particularly disturbing. |
Reminds me of the time my ex got goosed by Chip of Chip 'n Dale at Disneyland.
|
An unsightly side effect of all those surgeries -- but, not to worry, another is scheduled shortly to take care of this quibbling little detail.
Another possible explanation -- it's the antenna through which Jackson receives orders from the Mother Ship. Uh-oh, there's gonna be hell to pay for letting it show; Jackson was ordered to blend in and be indistinguishable from the crowd! |
No! Not one line story....
Detective Jackie Chan on probation for ramming a Segway into a runaway junk finds himself doing public relations work...
|
I love stuff like this.
It may look like childhood trauma to you ... But it's JOB SECURITY for me. |
ROTFL. You write fan mail to sadistic post office supervisors too, right?
|
The mascot of Starlight Children's Foundation named "Sparkle" scares the crap out of me. No one can be that happy all the time. His eyes make him look deranged.
With both of these mascots we see that there is a thin line between what adults think is "happy & cute" and what kids see as "scary & crazed". http://www.starlight.org/intl/Featur...es/fcipal2.jpg |
I like the part about "....less obtrusive...." nothing says less obtrusive than being bopped in the back of the head by a big giant fake plastic cop-head.
btw: my guess?! the crack is probably just a crack; not like they're gonna replace that crap any time soon. Probably wear even after one of the eyes fall out |
Hmmm...
Well obviously the police can't perform their duties in such a stupid costume. A cop in a Cop costume? Duh?
So you see the big costumed cop coming your way, you snag a new Flat-Panel Plasma Screen HDTV from the electronics store and run out of the mall. The costumed cop pursues you, running, stumbling, and falling. You get out of the mall with the TV, the cop's costume head gets stuck in the doorway and the cop falls yet again. The crowd joins around and laughs, hilarity ensues. (think three stooges). The Phillipines? I would think this kind of thing would only happen in Japan. |

Nice work
Good job there, Thadius, but how the hell did you get that pic of my chest??!!!
|
Baby: "AAAH!!! WHAT IS THAT THING IT'S HEAD IS HUGE OH MY GOD IT'S GONNA EAT ME! AAAAH!!!"
There is a reason human beings' heads don't grow proportionately to the rest of the body... This is one of them. |
