FIGHTS of the CENTURIES
No Holds Barred--CAGE MATCH Duke Ellington Vs. William Randolph Hearst Charles Mingus Vs. Rupert Murdoch Scott Joplin Vs. Jos. Pulitzer Louis Armstrong Vs. Horace Greeley Tag Team: Miles Davis & Herbie Hancock Vs. Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstien ONE NIGHT ONLY |

Mingus over Murdoch. Murdoch is a fawning sycophant Hearst wannabe, like every angry narcissistic villain. He will lose, but flamboyantly, and blame it on the referee. Joplin has such moves, such rhythm, I don't think Pulitzer's cerebral style can keep up. Joplin on points. Armstrong over Greeley. To be honest, I know nothing about Greeley but I've followed Satchmo's career forever. This is an emotional choice, I admit. The title match... Wow, wow. Woodward and Bernstein are stealthy and persistent, they just never go away. But their opponents Davis and Hancock are brilliant heavy hitters of the first order. If they can get some hits early, then team "Deep Throat" may well choke. I want ringside seats! |
Don't forget, Davis made a terrible error in his last match by actually facing away from his opponent.

I guess this is music for older people. I do not recognize a single name? 'Herbie Hancock???' Is this a joke?? but I do respect all musicaly tastes... I would like to participate. Katy Perry vs Madonna. I like katy! |
participate then. look up some of those names, tell us what you think about those matches. keep in mind that they're not all musicians, half are newsmen.
