Retraining Cats

If the cats must catch flying things, can we convert them from birds to fruit flies and mosquitos? That would be winningest all round.

My cats have always gone after flying insects. Not successfully, mind you.

My cat has completely slacked off on killing the spiders.

He barely earns his keep anymore.

If they don't catch them it doesn't count. This is not a socialist set-up. if I catch them, I get the credit. I just want someone else to do it. I think I'm going to implement a Flies for Food policy. Wings for Whiskas. And you know it was the black cat out there catching the birds yesterday.

Good luck with that.
I am currently training Diz not to walk over my pillow 5-10 times a night.
It involves a bit of shoving and hissing (on my part).
Night three last night. It's beginning to sink in.

He is good with daddy long legs and spiders I admit.
Except when they are on the ceiling. Then he just sits and says jib-jib-jib at them.
He doesn't eat moths, just kills them. They obviously taste bad - all dusty and that. I would think they taste of old ladies' clothes.

Re-training Cats???
:haha:

Just to feed back.
Diz appears to be completely retrained!
No waking me up by pillow walking last night.

Bear in mind this was a recent behavioural trait anyway.
So I did expect a fairly short de-programming.

The 'rents are back tonight.
Will see if he can behave under different circumstances.

Oh and he caught and ate two daddy long legs while the light was still on.
