I'm feeling kind of anxious
Leading up to the 10th anniversary, there is a great increase in the media coverage of 911. I didn't think it would affect me, but I have to admit that I'm feeling some anxiety. Now there's a credible threat for the weekend.

We like to over do things in this country. While this may not be a popular opinion I can't wait until this is over. I think we should remember the past not dwell on it.
:bolt: |
You couldn't pay me to go to NY or Washington this weekend. Any attack that slips through is likely to be bush league but they know they'll get the full media spotlight.

If you had to go to the (distant) family reunion I have to go to, you'd welcome some sort of attack.
:bolt: Just terrible. Really, I think it should be a day to celebrate being alive and free...with close family and friends. Watching football. Drinking beer. Whatever makes you happy (besides implementing terrorist attacks or shooting things...if that's your thrill.) My brother will be in freaking CO getting a prestigious award for his industry. I know we should move on and move past but for pete's sake it's the 10 anniversary of something that had tremendous impact on all our lives. I'd rather my brother weren't flying around the country. I'd rather he be home with his family. You know. Just in case. There aren't always second chances. :mad: |

Another attack is just what we need. {sarcasm}
Earthquake, hurricane, record rainfall and flash flooding. Oh, and hey, did you guys hear about the crane that was trying to remove earthquake debris from the national cathedral, in time for the 9/11 memorial services on Sunday? And since they were in such a rush, they were doing crane work during one of these thunderstorms this week. And the huge crane flipped over, smashing into some of the other buildings on the cathedral grounds. |

That's why they call it "paying attention". You can just simply decline to pay. Literally don't buy it. All those trees that blew down in the completely uninhabited forest... how much sleep did you lose over that? |

wow glatt..
They dropped that crane into the narrow lane of the empty parking lot and nicked the building at the end/top? I'm glad it wasn't worse and it could have been a LOT worse. We had a crane accident here a couple years ago and the crane collapsed into the building and killed a resident in the building, sitting in his living room. Not to mention the damage to the main structure. you posted a really impressive picture IotD material... yikes. |
Oh, and the Cathedral was built on ancient Indian Burial grounds, too.

I keep looking around for a proper place to talk about the flooding and rain, but that topic seems to be spread out over half a dozen threads, so I'll post this here.
Hershey Park is flooded and closed this weekend. I was on this Super Dooper Looper just 2-3 weeks ago. And I didn't go into this zoo part of Hershey Park, but these two bison ended up being shot before they could drown. The Park couldn't get to them in time to save them, so they shot them. |
Those buffalo were fornicators!

uh, grammar nazi alert.
them buffalo were fucked, not fuckers. sad to say. |
