Irish Gypsy Weddings...

Yesterday, while in a fit of boredom, I watched four back-to-back shows on TLC called my Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. It focused on the Irish Travellers and their traditions esp. nuptuals but r/t how the sexes interacted, etc.

Wow.

New dream job for me: Wedding Planner for Gypsy Weddings.

These girls are OVER the top - BEYOND tacky. It's a wonder to behold as one tries to out-do the others.

I wouldn't want to actually BE an Irish Travellers, though. Esp. not a female one. While a girl may indeed dress like a slut (it seems to be highly encouraged that she does) she may not drink, swear in front of men, ask a boy out, or do anything but clean the trailer (The charming euphamism of 'chalet' is used here) pump out bairns and feed their menfolk. Oh, and plan the wedding.

Yikes!
