Gorilla Vs. Grizzly Bear

I am currently in an argument with one of my fellows over who would win in a fight between a large gorilla and a grizzly bear of equal size, this is assuming there are no weapons nearby for the gorilla to take advantage of. Please help put down this argument once and for all.

Where is the poll?

Motivation is always an important factor, we need to know why these two want to fight rather than just be friends.

Good point. I mean, is there a Klondike bar involved?

grizzly bear.

there was this dumb show once, man vs bear or some such nonsense. they put remote cameras in a van and some yummy smelly food, and then ran like hell. Well, they watched via the remotes as the bears ate the van.

the bear is stronger. the bear's an omnivore and quite well adapted at killing, the gorilla doesn't have these advantages. Gorilla, it's what's for dinner.

The gorilla should win. But if the bear gets lucky, it could win.

The gorilla is faster and more nimble. It can jump up onto the back of the grizzly and tear it to shreds with its teeth.

The grizzly is stronger and if it can get on top, it can win. But it would have trouble being fast enough to do that.

But you couldn't get them to fight unless you caged them and made the walls unclimbable. The gorilla would get away.

glatt, you must have gorilla and lion confused. besides, the gorilla is not more nimble, what the hell were you thinking?

Grizzly would seriously kill a gorilla.
Most female grizzlies weigh 150–350 kilograms (330–770 lb), while males weigh on average 230–450 kilograms (510–990 lb)

Adult males, also called silverbacks, range in height 1.65–1.75 metres (5 ft 5 in–5 ft 9 in), and in weight 140–200 kg (310–440 lb). Adult females are often half the size of a silverback, averaging about 1.4 metres (4 ft 7 in) tall and 100 kg (220 lb). Occasionally, a silverback of over 1.8 metres (5 ft 11 in) and 230 kg (510 lb) has been recorded in the wild

I'm thinking the bear, easily? Like, it slaughters the gorilla?

Fools!

The gorilla is smarter than the bear, and far more nimble. Look how high it can jump. And those teeth!

Ok, maybe it seems to attack from the front, where the bear has some strength, but still, it's a monkey, and monkeys are evil. Plus, it can throw poop at the bear to distract it before it attacks. They are smart.

Unless it's Yogi. Yogi is smarter than the average bear, boo boo.

Fools! The answer is: the wombat. They don't look it but they are the most powerful ninjas in the world, and they're plotting to destroy it.

glatt, bears are pretty smart, AND they have terrifying claws and fangs. The gorilla is all show--he has no offense. The bear is bigger, stronger, and deadlier. Nature is not a chess game.

Great find!

I can see the gorilla not wanting to be a chimp and running for his life.

p.s. re: video information.
I want an oppossable big toe!. I would never have to bend over to pick up anything.:)
