Coming to a country near you.
Looks like it would cost this dude $610 over what his monthly bill is.:eyebrow:

I don't see what my personal usage is on our bills, but 825 GB sounds really high. What's he doing that uses that much? A streamed Netflix movie is around 2 GB, so this guy watched 400 movies a month?

I'd guess he's bitTorrenting around the clock.

But the point is, they're going from a monthly fee for access to a monthly fee plus measured usage. In this case it may only hit huge users, but in the never ending quest for profits, there's nothing to keep them from sliding that usage scale down, once people accept it as normal. It particularly sucks when there's no competition.

Seems like a couple weeks or so ago, I read the Canadian courts ruled the telecoms owned their poles, and could limit sharing. I suspect this may have come as a result of that ruling.

It is coming. I could see them beginning to charge for email as well at sometime in the future.

Welcome to my planet.

There are lots of different plans for how much you use, some with caps, extra charges, etc. If this guy is taking 825 GB a month, he got the wrong plan.
