Laptop Keyboard repair?

Laptop Keyboard repair?
My keys on my Dell inspiron 1525 keep losing their sensitivity. I have to mash my right arrow, backspace and now the 1/! several times to get them to work, or they are hard to press in the first place. This laptop is going on 3yrs old, but I don't have the funds or desire to replace it. Am I stuck with a failing keyboard or can it actually be repaired for a decent price?

Sounds like it needs a clean

You have two options.

- plug in a USB keyboard and use that instead of the built-in one.

- Replace the internal keyboard. Down load the manual for your model and look through to find the section on removing and replacing the keyboard. If you think you can handle it, that's the route you should go. Replacement keyboards generally go for $25-30.

OK, great, I think I'll try that. Didn't really think you could replace one, but I've been doing some searching and it doesn't look that hard.

Famous last words.
