So LAST FUCKING WEEK I tried to update Windows. Because I'm a goddamned fool, that's why. Well, waddya know, it's been a while since I updated. No biggie, five important updates, eight optional updates. I don't just update optional shit, cuz, w/Microsoft, you run a 50/50 chance of mucking things up w/an update, so I opted for just the important ones. Great. One important update didn't install. Or download, for that matter. What was the holdout? The Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool. Yeah, when that's the one that don't go, I get suspicious. So, I go and update AVG and give it a run, to see what I've (or more likely Momdigr on FaceBook) picked up. An hour an a half later, AVG ain't found shit. Try the download again. Same, the MSRT did not download or install. Now I'm pissed AND concerned. I start Googling, and another hour later I'm in worse shape than I started. This goes on til, oh, 1:00 today.

Today, I downloaded & installed the 'optional updates', and just for shits and giggles, I tried the MSRT again. It downloaded and installed in the jiffy it should've the first goddamned time, just like all the times before.

Hey Bill: If the critically important shit won't d'load and install until I d'load and install the "optional" shit, IT AIN'T FUCKING OPTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
