The local school system started doing this. Not for long on my phone, I can tell you....... totally effin irritating. I got it stopped just before snow season when they promised to call before 5am if school was cancelled. I'm quite happy to find out at when i wake up at 6am, tyvm.

They used this type of tech at my old job: reminding people to register, to pay...blah blah blah. I never liked the idea, but I think it's rampant now.

It's great for us emergency services people...
