Pimpin' Coat

1 Attachment(s)
It's been 9 years...

The last time I bought a coat was in late 1993. When you're little, you go through a new coat just about every year. But by '93, I had grown as much as I was gonna grow, and bought a nice coat to get me through the oddball winters in St. Louis.

That whole time, I've had a burning desire for an overcoat. You know, one of those nice long wool coats that's part business, part pimp, part John Gotti. It is simply a bad-ass coat, and I wanted to own one.

Whenever I wanted to buy one, I never seemed to have the money. I would look in thrift shops, but could never find one in my size. Then, I'd forget about the whole thing for a while...well, forget no more.

My mom offered to give me $100 towards a new coat. Well, since I'm relatively poor and not below taking money, I gladly took her up on her offer.

After perusing a couple of stores, I strolled out of Burlington Coat Factory at Franklin Mills with a snazzy black overcoat. It's nice and warm and has plenty of pocket space. And of course, it fits like a glove. $149.98--well worth me chipping in the extra $50...it'll last me 10 years.

And the compliments thus far?

--That looks like a nice warm coat. (It is.)
--You look like a mafia guy in that coat. (I do, though unlike the mafia, I have no money.)

This is the greatest coat I have ever had. It gives me that "professional" look when strolling along Market Street.

And what better way to end this thread but with a picture of a coat similar to my own?

Sweet.

Hey Syc,

You dropped your coat on Blogview.

There, I picked it up for ya.

elSicomoro 11-02-2002 02:07 AM

UT, why doesn't blogview pick up attached photos?

Undertoad 11-02-2002 10:06 AM

I dunno! Why you peeple gotta ask me all the hard questions!

UT, Why don't reference link [img] tags work for images hosted on the Cellar server as they do for images hosted elsewhere?

He doesn't like my attached images...he found the coat off-putting.

Undertoad 11-02-2002 12:54 PM

What! They work exactly the same way! What is this nonsense?

Undertoad 11-02-2002 12:56 PM

That phrase "off-putting" - I thought I was the only one who would ever use such a thing.

It just seemed...appropriate. :)

For whatever reason, whenever I attach an image, it doesn't show up on the blogview. This happened with "the man" thread too.

Won't be a problem for too much longer though, thanks to Mr. Ham.

This is what I get when I put the URL between the bracket [] img tags.

And wouldn't you know it...it's too big for me to "borrow"...:D

Now all you need to do is to don your baseball cap backwards and your sneakers while wearing the coat, and voila...you're "Silent Bob". ;)

I'd have to grow my hair longer though...I don't know about that.
