Shuffle off to Buffalo

I'll be in Buffalo next week on business. I am not staying over the weekend so I will only have some time in the evening. I will not have any time to do much of anything except dinner, but it's always possible that there is a gallery or exhibit open in the evening.

Besides visiting the Anchor Bar, birthplace of Buffalo wings, are there any restaurants or attractions worth seeing on weekday evenings?

The Wurtsberger Hoff (sp?) near the university area. You can get Beef on Kimmelwek there or a few other places around town. That is the real Buffalo cuisine.

Someone at work told me about Beef on Kimmelwek. I'm looking forward to trying it.

The Albright-Knox (Art) Gallery is there and sometimes has early evening events... there is a calendar on-line. A day time tour is well worthwhile too.

There's a notable waterfall in the area.

Ah yes, Mohegan Sun Falls at Niagara.

Of course, there's the river that once caught fire, but by now the only thing left may be the ashes.

Just got back from my first week in Buffalo. Not much time to do anything but work-eat-sleep. I'm sad to report that the wings at the Anchor Bar, while good, were not the best I've ever had. We order hot wings with suicide sauce on the side (say that 3 times fast). I dipped, pressed, soaked the wings in the suicide sauce, but I barely got a fiery tongue feeling out of it. They were meaty and not overdone.

It was still a disappointment for the birthplace of wings.

Disappointment to find out the wings you've been eating are not authentic?
