Driving from Texas to Florida, Nat'l Lampoon-style. Staying at an Atlantic-side timeshare resort for one week.

Found out that every hotel room in Alabama is full...due to the oilspill? Not sure why Louisiana and Mississippi are not affected but Alabama is? Had to drive 20 miles back to Miss. to get a room.

Visited the USS Alabama (photos to follow) and next night stopped in Florida, north. I continue to see Mexican restaurants...?

Driving on south now, and have just logged onto the Cellar for the 1st time on my BB!

May you have an oil free vacation. Please send us some bikini pictures of Pooka.

Btw the BB saves URLs as a link in the messages folder & the Cellar is set to "remember me" so I am all set!

Florida Turnpike South: exits say "Sunpass Only, CASH NOT ACCEPTED" & "$100 Toll Fines, Photo Enforced"

Ummm... what if I don't have a Sunpass? I can never get off this road?

The wifi here is unsecure (no WEP or anything...WTF?) & slow...which means I don't want to VPN into work (unsecure, as a sys admin) from here... & I may as well keep using my BB to update this thread.

The Atlantic is beautiful here. Cold, crystal clear, and full of little fishies that nip the dead skin off your toes. Many cool shells everywhere to collect and make necklaces.

We road a riverboat up the intercoastal waterway to a "tropical island" for all-you-can-eat BBQ ribs, chicken, & shrimp. And a little zoo with monkeys & alligators, etc.

Gonna have to use Canon Photostitch to put together some of the panoramic shots I am getting. Don't have it on the laptop, though.

Rode an airboat (with 2 Cadillac 472" V8s, direct drive to the props) through the Everglades today. Kids got to hold a baby alligator.
