What not to do on a plane to your fellow passengers

Just flew from IAH to SEA and the Mrs. and I were in first class which is always nice. Not long after we took off the man in front of me began putting his hands on the back of his headrest or up in the air holding on to the edge of the baggage bins. At first it was a bit annoying and luckily I was not interested in the movie and was mostly working on my laptop. After awhile it became amusing and I decided to capture his antics on my iPhone.

Well at least he had nicely manicured fingernails.

Well, it's better than screaming children.

You should've started painting his nails!

Spexxvet 05-27-2010 08:51 AM

I hope his pits weren't stinky!

Trilby 05-27-2010 08:53 AM

hahahahahaha!!!!

That would annoy me. I bet when that guy drives, he leans way over on the armrest, gangsta-wannabe style. The arms are where they all keep their unrivaled coolness, apparently.

maybe his hands and arms were going numb and he was trying to improve the circulation or something (although I usually put my arms down for that purpose).

or . . . some guys just cannot sit still. You ever see those? constantly jiggling and squirming like a 5 year old.

Shawnee123 05-27-2010 11:34 AM

He probably has fibromyalgia.

monster 05-27-2010 12:51 PM

perhaps the person in the seat next to him was filming a deodorant commercial?

toranokaze 05-28-2010 12:29 PM

Maybe he just wanted to hold hands

Way better than the dude in the row ahead of me who puked ... I can deal with fidgety.

When I was 18, I saw a short piece on schizophrenia where this schizophrenic guy couldn't put his left arm down. It was stuck. When at home he would mask it by reclining and putting his other arm up, like he was relaxing. But he would go out and mow the lawn, and his one arm would be up.

Well this freaked me right the fuck out. From then on I started to worry every time I put my arm up - is it gonna just stay there, because I'm mentally ill, and that's it for life, now?

Which is stupid, because that's much better than, say, being blind or deaf or something, just having your one arm up all the time. But it's the embarrassment, you know? If you're blind, people don't want your story, they just want to pet your dog.

plus, anytime anyone asked for a volunteer to do something really shitty, you'd be screwed.

ZenGum 05-28-2010 07:15 PM

I guess he must have had his arm up when the wind changed, and it stayed like that. Grandma was right!
