Stanley cup finals

On october 8th 2009 at the start of this NHL season, in the "betting tips" thread, i evaluated this NHL season listing both stanley cup finalists as the #1 contender from each conference:
Quote:

eastern conference

philadelphia flyers
ny rangers
pittsburgh penguins
boston bruins
washington capitals
tampa bay lightning
ottawa senators
montreal canadiens
toronto maple leafs
new jersey devils
ny islanders
buffalo sabres
carolina hurricane
atlanta thrashers
florida panthers

western conference

chicago blackhawks
columbus blue jackets
st.louis blues
calgary flames
san jose sharks
detroit red wings
minnesota wild
anahiem ducks
la kings
nashville predators
colorado avalanche
edmonton oilers
phoinex coyotes
dallas stars
vancouver canucks
I'm a Chris Pronger fan and i'm happy to say that Chris is participating in his 3rd stanley cup finals in the past 4 years!
If the Flyers win it, Pronger will most likely be named MVP.
Go Flyers!

Kudos to you!
I was looking back at a little history - the Flyers are 0-5, I believe in their last 5 attempts at the cup.

thanks.
yeah, but in the other 5 shots, they didn't have the greatest active hockey player in the world, Chris Pronger!

I like the Flyers.

@ whip-ping-post - (lol) They had that Lindros LeClair line though.
Wasn't he supposed to be the boy wonder and all?
Or am I old with a failing memory?

Really Jim? Thats surprising. I'm back on the bandwagon - rooting for the hometown team. The B-hawks look scary good though.

I'm waiting for Pete Z to say something- Isn't he in B-hawk country?

Go 'Hawks.

I live near Philadelphia, but I grew up in Chicagoland. Should make work interesting for the next couple of weeks.

I think I have a 'Hawks car flag, but I can't use it, because I don't want my tires slashed.

Sorry, Bluejackets, I always have to love the Wings.

C'mon Wolf - How long you been here? You seriously haven't been
assimilated yet? B-hawks:borg:Flyers

There was an article in the Toronto Sun this morning about the stanley cup finals.
On the front page of the sports section was a huge picture of chris pronger, naming him the players with the greatest impact in this nhl season.
I recall the season he got traded from the blues to the oilers.
It was the same time that Thorton got traded in the boston deal.
The media was all over the thorton deal, and had little coverage of the pronger deal.
I was like, the greatest hockey player in the world is being traded, and these guys are talking about joe thorton.
Well, pronger's moves determined conference winners and stanley cup champions, while thortons move really didn't make much of a difference.

I've placed a bet with william hill on chris pronger being named MVP.
