How many times have you touched your face today?

Count'em. I dare ya!

Really, despite the recommendations on how to prevent the spread of disease, it's so hard to be conscious about this. I touch my eyes, my mouth, and my nose constantly.

Cloud 11-07-2009 04:57 PM

still counting?

bluecuracao 11-07-2009 05:15 PM

Like a bazillion times, but it's Saturday.

During the work week when I ride SEPTA, I do not touch my face before washing my hands thoroughly!

Carry alcohol based hand sanitizer and use it frequently. I carry some in my jeans when I go out. Tiny bottle. I buy big bottles and refill it. I use it at work as well.

Cloud 11-09-2009 12:05 PM

too many times, obviously, because I'm sick!

monster 11-09-2009 12:36 PM

all the time. I live in a pigsty, I refuse to use alcohol hand sanitizer and I can't remember the last time I was sick. or anyone in my family. I reckon all the germ-freaks have sanitized the natural immunity out or their systems

Srsly, it sems to me people who are more worried about getting sick are the ones who do. Or is it that people who regularly get sick have more reason to worry about it?

Hope you feel better soon, Cloud. at least you stocked up on the meds pre-season, eh? I do remember enough about being sick that it seems worse to have a cold when the whether is warm than when it's cold.

I use the wipes at the gym on my hands when I use the machines, maybe 2-3 times in an hour or so. I don't like the hand sanitizer so I never use it (although one time they switched it's spot with the moisterizer in the locker room so I covered myself in it.... that was pretty suck).
Maybe if I lived or worked in a different environment I'd feel differently... but I think basic hygiene, not sanitizing one's self is the way to go. The immune system needs exercise to work well too.

More than is good for me, undoubtedly.

Humans are cootie carriers.

Given that I live alone in the woods, and spend very little time in the company of other human beings, I never get sick.

It's a win-win.

I'm touching my face right now. And now. And now. Touchy touchy touchy. Neener!

oh....sorry...

Glinda 11-10-2009 11:00 AM

 ARRRRGGH!! COOTIES!!

Cloud 11-10-2009 11:26 AM

my view on cooties was confirmed when I learned that cooties are in reality pubic lice, i.e., crabs.

Boys have 'em!

So, Glinda, about that bird flu/ swine flu/ cow pox/ mosquito borne virus/ rabid monkey syndrome ....

which woods do you live in?

Glinda 11-11-2009 10:30 AM

:p I'm in the great Pacific Northwest. My birds avoid humans (and other birds), got no cows or pigs around here, mosquitoes fear me, and I've shotgunned all the rabid monkeys, so I'm good to go.

There are only two things that can get me - Mount St. Helens blowing again (in the opposite direction from the first time), or a house falling from the sky.

:D

Cloud 11-11-2009 10:59 AM

houses don't fall on good witches!
