Heading to ____________. How about you?

I thought I would open a thread for those of us going on short trips so anyone can post on this and share pictures or travel adventure stories after they come back.

And I will start. We just got back from the semi-final National Championship Div 1, 2, and 3 level USA Rugby competions where I was an assistant ref. Good weekend, wet on and off.

Next we are going to Freeport, the Bahamas Thurs for an Old Boys Rugby trip. I hooked up with a team out of Hotlanta and the wife and I are going for an all adult fun trip where I will get to play part of a rugby match with a bunch of guys from the ages of 65 to 35. We have been excited about it and the wife has been packing for a month. It is only a five day trip but should be fun. I just checked the weather and it looks like it is going to be a muddy match, rain from Thurs through Sunday. At least it will not be to hot for that 80 min; it sure has put a damper in the planned beach time. I will try to post some pics.

I'm off to the pantry for some filtered water. No camera with me, but I'll report back when I return.

Well, the pantry was nice, but I wouldn't want to live there. I had to pass through three security check points (doors) each way. On the way there, the first two were easy crossings, but the third required that I present my ID to the reader.

The pantry is pretty nice. It's clean and well organized. Nicer than my own office, actually. Much larger and cleaner, and it seems brighter. I always worry about getting sick when I travel so I washed my hands upon arrival. Then I helped myself to some delicious filtered water.

The return trip was more arduous. Isn't it always? It was easy getting out of the pantry, but I had to pass through two security check points coming back, and present my ID both times. This was complicated by the fact that I was laden with filtered water. I eventually made it back, and am grateful to be safely back in one piece in home sweet home.

As great as a trip to the pantry can be, it is always so nice to get back home again.

I'm off to the closet. There's a bottle of water there, along with prepackaged coffee pods. I hope to have an afternoon cup of coffee--preferably with half-and-half, but that's in a fridge in the next office, and I'd run the risk of meeting other people.

Oh, I forgot to mention how eerie my trip was. There wasn't a soul in the pantry or on the way there and back. I could hear people all around, but I saw no one!

I'm gonna go make some copies of this contract package. If I'm not back in 3 minutes.....flee!

lumberjim 05-19-2009 02:49 PM

You know the last time LJ posted one of his contracts it was 'shopped.

I took our foreign national visitor on a quick trip to the restrooms. Babysitting can be such a hassle.

Did you have to explain the clockwise/counterclockwise water swirling?
