Amble scramble needs your good wishes...
My Brother's ever hungry, eat anything, fat lass of a rhodesian ridgeback, Amber, is very sick. At last word she'd been rushed from her vet to another one for an emergency operation. It's life and death stuff and I know my bro is going through it right now as he waits at the vets.
So, a little Cellar positivity wouldn't go amiss right now. Send your positive vibes to: Amber (aka Amble-scramble, aka Fat Lass) c/o DanaC Yorkshire England. |
I'm sending Amber Fat Lass big fat hugs and cuddles and lots of "who's a good doggie, yes she is." Poor darling.
Hope she gets better soon. |
Vibes en route! Also a couple of ear scribbles and chest tickles.
Good luck, Amber. |
Sending prayers for Amber.

Update:
Operation was apparently successful. She's not fully come round yet, but I think they're anticipating she'll be coming home later tonight. I don't know what her overall prognosis is yet, but I'll let you know when I do. Thanks all for the good vibes:) Amble scramble would be heartened to know. |
Woof! :)
|
Canine caring thoughts and healings sent your way ...
|
Further update: she is now at home in her (brand new, made by the girls) bed. Seems fairly comfortable, but quite woozy.
[gross alert] her uterus which had to be removed due to infection had swelled to 3.5 kg. She is no longer quite such a fat lass. |
Poor girl! Glad she's on the road to recovery.
|
Aww... poor doggy. Glad she's pulling thru.
|
Amber is lucky your brother loves her so much and he noticed she was not quite right. Pyometria kills many a dog before the owner gets them to a vet. Its so nice to see a positive outcome. :)

:flower: for a sweet :apaw:

awww *smiles*. You guys are great.
I'm really pleased she's ok. I hope this means she's all clear for a good long while now. She's more or less the same age as Pilau and Dante. I think there may be a couple months difference. We got Pil and Dan when they were 8 weeks old and then a few weeks later Martin got Amber. She was 12 weeks old I think. The breeder had had difficulty in selling her because of the missing ridge (she's a ridgeless ridgeback :P) She was the most beautiful pup. She'd look at you with concentration and her forehead would wrinkle up. She was houdini in a fur suit. Nothing could contain her. The boys adored her, but she ran rings round them. Didn't know her own strength. By the time she was six months old she could flatten them without thinking. Outside the house she has to be muzzled. Her protective instincts are too sharp. Visitors must approach the yard with caution and be ready to run. People arriving at the house may find her baying a little disconcerting. As indeed, they may find the sound of her huffing through the gap under the living room door (to which she has by now been banished). Actually, that's probably unfair. She's calmed down an awful lot the last year two years. Still very much a guard dog in her heart of hearts, mind :P With the clan, she has the best temperament. Wonderful dog. So gentle. She grew up with the kids and has absolute patience with them. If the youngest goes a little far she'll do a growl, and has once, Ithink done a little nip. No blood, no harm done, just the tiniest little nip...like a bitch might do with its pup. Must be said the kid learned. Whatever it was she'd tried to inflict on her oh so patient friend was not attempted again. I love Amber. She's not the world's cleverest dog. But she's steadfast and can be smart (if food or escape is involved) in a wily sort of a way. She has the most beautiful eyes. You could disappear into them. When she looks at you she does so intently. She's part of the family's doggy gang. Mr P, Big Brother Dan, and Fat Lass. |
Thats sweet Dana, she sounds like a good dog. Glad she pulled through.
|
can we get a picture?
Glad to hear she pulled through |
