Wii or Wii not?

Contemplating buying a Wii... particularly to buy the Wii fit, and the music and the Scuba experience... etc... figure there is something for everyone in the family on it and I have a personal trainer in my living room that I can visit periodically throught the day as childrens allow...

Tell me your experiences... anyone had any scuccess with Wii fit?

Why should I or shouldn't I buy it.

Our older kids like it. Mr. Clod injured his arm trying to beat his bowling high score. That's about all I know.

Tragic case of nintendonitis.

We have one, and I have to admit that we enjoy it. Activities are scored, and the top 10 places are displayed with the Mii and the score, so we compete against each other and ourselves. I work out at a gym, but am too klutzy to do a public aerobics class. The Wii Fit lets me work on my own game, while learning steps, in my own home. Exposure and practice with yoga has given me a genuine interest in learning more of it in RL. Wii Fit will chart progress and notice if you skip a day or two - a polite comment will be mark it. Funny but effective! I'm not a group groupie, so it works for me.

Wii. Otherwise your bladder will explode. This will piss you off.

Seriously, WTF were they thinking with that name?

important question left out

How best to PURCHASE a Wii system? Possibly with the Fit attachment and necessary controllers as part of a package deal? Do any particular online or brick-and-mortar retailers put Wii packages on fantastic sale at various times? Your advice/experience please... . . . P.S. lol@nintendonitis

Wii got the Wii for Christmas. Came with Wii Sports. Not Fit. Don't have Fit. Can't comment on Fit other than to say wii want it. I have to say that I love regular Wii. I can play my hardest against the kids, and still not always win. When I'm in the back yard, kicking a soccer ball around with them or whatever, I have to go easy on them because they are just kids. The Wii levels the playing field and they cream me as often as I cream them. Good interactive family fun. They love it when they beat me fair and square.

Since wii all got good at Wii Sports, wii've been looking for new games to play. The strength of Wii is the motion control, so wii look for games that really use that. Most don't seem to. Most/many games are just regular video games that have also been released for Wii and you just sit on the couch pushing buttons.

Mercury Meltdown was the second Wii game we bought, and I would recommend it. You tilt the controller to tilt the virtual board on the screen and make a blob of mercury roll around and do stuff. It's fun.

Wii were going to buy the Wii fit for Christmas for my older son & his girlfriend, but they were out. However, we bought some kind of adventure game with the same attributes - they love it. Of course, it sounds like a herd of animals are running thru the house once they get started.

You laugh, but...

Is the Wii for $249 and the Wii fit for $89 a good deal?

wolf 03-29-2009 01:26 PM

Get the Wii. Do it. Do it. Do it.

And Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess, which totally rocks.

The sports things were cute, but I go over to my friend's house to work on my game of Zelda. Nearly, nearly to the end. I'm digging it.

The Wii Fit sounds awesome. I was going to the the Yourself Fitness for PS2, but never got around to it.

I love the Zelda universe. The last game I played all the way through was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

We have a piece of fluorite with the triforce in it.

I bought our wii as a package, with wii fit, wii sport and controllers.

Im still on the fence about it though, I like it, the kids prefer xbox at this stage. 4yr old isnt up to movement and button work, whereas he doesnt have any problems with xbox, 6yr old still prefers the xbox games at this stage.
