That's disgusting behaviour.

Why can't Americans learn to queue like the Brits?

That was such a sick story. To top it off, the shoppers protested and got pissed off when they were told they had to leave because someone had died. They didn't want to lose their precious bargains. It makes me angry that we've become so materialistic and focused on ourselves. There were other injuries too, an 8mo pregnant woman was one.

Rumor had it that the man who got killed did so while trying to protect her. I do NOT know if thats true, but I heard them speculating about it on the radio this am.

Demoncrats.

Obama voters.

I think that 1) Walmart should have better crowd control and 2) the whole store should automatically kick everyone out and ban sales for the day. It's not the first person, or just the second, it's a massive group of people who are pushing, shoving and as a group have created this situation. Of coarse they would never close down the store or do anything different because of the free publicity (even if it is negative) and the enormous amount of revenue that day creates. Every year someone gets trampled it seems. I seriously think that these situations were not appropriately dealt with. Also, what's on sale so crazy that the crowd is shoving to get in? I don't care enough about things to push and shove and do a mad rush to get in.

Oh, come on. Wouldn't you kill someone for a chance to save $25 on a tv? I think we all would.

sweetwater 12-02-2008 10:51 AM

It's appalling, yes, although I don't see much difference between this mob and soccer, football, or some concert crowds. They all scare me!

No, but I might kill anyone trying to force me into walmart. ;)

They must be watching Soccer in the EU and learned it from there. :D

A couple of the shoppers who were in the crowd that trampled the guy are already suing Walmart for back and neck pain.

I'd sue them for the mess on my shoe. Blood doesn't come out easily, you know, and these are real faux suede.

Maybe. I get the joke (I was making a pun on a comment Dana made on some other thread even), but really, I can't find anything funny in that sort of behaviour anywhere.

Why must people get themselves into such a frenzy as to cause physical harm to themselves and others? I can't remember ever having felt that way myself and in fact, I usually avoid those sorts of super sales for that very reason. It's obviously not only happening in America. It happens everywhere.
