Jury convicts mom of lesser charges in online hoax
 

I am sure you all remember when this happened. I can't believe she got off with what is nothing more than a slap on the wrist. She should have been more severely punished. I would hope the family goes for a civil suit.

Well, she's been found guilty in the court of public opinion. Even with the lesser sentences, she'll have to disclose her conviction to any future employer and then explain the details when asked.

While many legal scholars and the jury believed that she could not be convicted on the felony charges, it's almost impossible to find anyone who will defend her actions.

She will be a pariah for a very long time.

I don't understand the conviction. Whose computer did she access without authorization, MySpace's?
