Cricket
After a disastrous start to the season for Australia in India where we copped a flogging at the hands of the bowlers and batsmen equally, we've managed to redeem ourselves slightly with a win over NZ in the first test in Brisbane.
Andrew Symonds is in trouble again after a minor scuffle at a well known pub in Brisbane, The Normanby. Fortunately for Roy, the pub is standing behind him on this one and suggesting that the patron was an overzealous fan. I have to wonder though, if there's not an ulterior motive for the Normanby considering that they're on notice by the liquor licensing board themselves after a dreadful year filled with fighting and underage drinking offences. So, what's in store for Australian cricket? Will Ponting be able to marshal his considerably younger and less experienced troops to a victorious season, or are the heydays of Australian cricket on the decline? |
Nothing like deep fried crickets, we do those for New Years Day.

The Ghanian doc here follows cricket a bit, but he doesn't work as often as we'd like him to. If he ends up working any time soon and I remember to ask him, I'll post his response.

We lost the four test series in India 2-0 (2 draws). In the first draw we were ahead when time ran out.
Touring India is a big ask, and I don't rate that as a flogging (except the second game). Even so, I think it is no shame to be beaten by India, especially in India. Ponting's captaincy is good, but he's no Steve Waugh. |
We didn't win a match at all. 2yrs ago that would have been unheard of for Australia. I agree that there are always going to issues when touring India, but the team really didn't manage themselves very well if you pay any attention to media reports.
